Punch Brothers and Bela Fleck at Steven Tanger Center for the Arts

Why see Punch Brothers and Bela Fleck?

Giants of ROOTS MUSIC on tour together

Folk giants Punch Brothers and banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck are teaming up for a joint US and Canada tour in December, bringing their jawdropping skill and influential take on bluegrass and folk music to a stage near you. Set to be a memorable run for both audience and musicians alike, this tour is not to be missed for fans of American folk music.

Somewhat of a bluegrass supergroup, Punch Brothers are anything but ordinary. As well as a Grammy award for their 2018 album All Ashore and multiple further nominations, individual members have four Grammy wins and fifteen nominations between them for their various other projects and solo ventures, including three awards for mandolinist Chris Thile's work as a member of folk legends Nickel Creek. Their innovative fusion of jazz-folk, contemporary bluegrass, classical music and rock shies away from anything ever heard before, favouring a traditional acoustic aesthetic combined with an adventurous and experimental spirit. Bela Fleck meanwhile is considered one of the greatest musicians in modern American folk and revival music, with his stunning proficiency with the banjo earning him fifteen Grammy wins and 33 nominations, as well as induction into the International Bluegrass Hall Of Fame in 2020.
